Pewaukee, WI, United States – The Gustave A. Larson Company - the midwest, plains and mountain states leading wholesale distributor of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration products recently hosted its 9th Annual Charity Golf Outings in Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Wisconsin in memory of the late Karl G. Larson. Customers, employees and suppliers gathered for a day of golf and camaraderie to support the Karl G. Larson (KGL) HVAC Research Fund.
The KGL HVAC Research Fund was established to support the Larson HVAC Building Systems Laboratory at the University of Colorado-Boulder that was endowed by Karl and Madeleine Larson in 1994. The lab is used for educational and research purposes and is designed for dynamic testing of complete and full-scale commercial HVAC and building systems. The research fund was established to support the lab and award graduate and undergraduate students scholarships to the University of Colorado studying HVAC/R.
This year, emphasis was also placed on Larson’s relationship with GPS Education Partners. The Larson Company and the non-profit organization GPS Education Partners have joined forces to highlight incredible potential for building a strong career in the HVAC/R industry. Together, they work to meet the growing demand for educated professionals in the HVAC/R field by raising awareness of the industry and garnering interest in the potential for employment. By taking on different roles within the process and exploring diverse career opportunities, students are able to make their choice in the constantly-growing and evolving HVAC/R industry.
This year, the goal of $65,000 was exceeded, with over $86,000 being raised! As always, the Larson Company has matched customer and vendor donations to reach the total.

Larson outings are always a joyous occasion where we can meet up with our customers and partners, play some golf, and support education and research for the next generation of the HVAC industry. After moving the events to an online format in 2020, we were thrilled to get together in person again this year,” said Scott Larson, President and COO of the Larson Company.
