The HARDI Home Study Institute is part of the

distributor members of HARDI. The program is accredited by the
Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training

Q: Will these courses help pass a licensing
test?
A: Local licensing exams emphasize an understanding of local
building codes. HARDI courses, as with any industry training
sessions are helpful, but licensing tests vary substantially from
state to state, so it is not possible to say yes.
Q: What about college credit for courses taken?
A: What a college accepts for credit is strictly up to the school.
We have no control over their decisions. Some students have been
successful, however.
Q: Do you have to study every night?
A: No, you study at your own pace but we provide a suggested
schedule – usually 2 hours per week.
Q: Are tests involved?
A: Yes, both self-check and Institute graded examinations are
used.
Q: Does everyone pass?
A: No, you must maintain a grade average of 70 or better.
Q: How about recognition?
A: Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded. Certificates
suitable for framing are also presented.
Q: Are earned CEUs recognized by state licensing boards?
A: The state of Ohio recognizes HARDI courses for fulfilling
continuing education rules for HVAC license renewal. You must
contact your local state board to seek approval to accept our
courses.
Q: Are there prerequisites to enroll?
A: You should be employed in the HVACR industry. Some courses
suggest experience or previous training, but in general you can
enroll in the course of your choice.
Q: Is the program VA approved?
A: No. Courses are short and inexpensive. Save your GI bill for
other programs.
Q: Does this lead to EPA “CFC” Certification?
A: We do not provide CFC testing which must be proctored. You
should seek organizations specializing in CFC training/testing
approved by EPA.
Q: Are there any training kits or tools?
A: We assume the person enrolled is employed in the industry and
getting the much needed “hands on” experience. No tools or
experiment kits are included.
