ICP Commercial Rooftop Solves Application Problem for Mezz Heating

April 2002 - Chicagoland HVAC Insider

Recently Jim Meznarsic of Mezz Heating faced an application issue common to many Commercial Contractors. The job called for two 7-1/2 ton and one 4 ton unit. Problem was the roof design had limitations for the weight load of standard 7-1/2 ton units. Jim consulted with Doug Lawrence (BDV), his sales consultant from Gustave A. Larson Company and found the PGF090 ICP Commercial Rooftop fit the bill. “At a mere 750 pounds, the PGF090 met the weight restrictions of the roof without any major structural bracing. Plus the unit was only 6 feet by 4 feet, which is the size you would typically see in a 3 to 5 ton unit”, says Bill.

The PGF090 provides up to 3,000 CFM at 1 inch static and has a standard belt drive for precise CFM adjustments. Heating on the unit is rated at 160,000 BTU input and a single 7-1/2 ton compressor provides a full 91,000 BTU cooling at ARI Standard 95 degree outdoor ambient, 80 degree dry bulb and 67 degree weight bulb. Unit accessories include outdoor dampers, economizers, concentric duct kits and low ambient controls.

Gustave A. Larson Company is the authorized local distributor providing the complete line of ICP Commercial Rooftops. Larson stocks rooftops and split systems up to 20 tons at the new Broadview facility. This Spring, Larson will be introducing the new line of ICP Commercial Rooftops from 7-1/2 to 20 tons.
